But actors Bradley Whitford and Richard Schiff, who played White House deputy chief of staff Josh Lyman and communications director Toby Ziegler on the show, told the New York Times — at Huffington’s prompting — that they too heard McCain’s confession [that he did not vote for Bush in 200] at the dinner party at actress Candice Bergen’s Beverly Hills home.

John McCain called out by Jed Bartlet’s aides
Not much to this story other than pondering that dinner party… Arianna Huffington, Toby and Josh from the West Wing, and freaking John McCain at Candice Bergen’s dinner party?? Can’t we somehow, for the benefit of promoting the disaffection of Red Meat Red Staters, start calling him a Murphy Brown Republican?
I don’t know what the left-wing equivalent of dining on vegetarian cuisine with Jewish Hollywood elites while undermining the supremecy of Dear Leader Bush is, but I am certain that if Obama was caught doing it, Matthews, Russert, Broder and the whole gang would jump on it faster than you can say “Candace Bergen has two Golden Globes.”
